Linnear — project management for distributed teams.
A founder came to us with a Notion doc and a deadline. Eight months later, Linnear launched to #3 on Product Hunt and crossed 50,000 active users.
The challenge
The founder had product sense and a waitlist, but no engineering team — just a Notion doc describing a real-time project tool and a hard launch date. They needed someone who could turn the idea into a production app and the architecture that a future in-house team could inherit without a rewrite.
What we built
We scoped the shortest path to a credible v1, then built it as a real-time, multi-tenant SaaS on Next.js and Postgres, with a design system created alongside the product so the second wave of features wouldn't restart from zero.
- Real-time boards, docs, and presence powered by a custom sync layer
- Multi-tenant auth, roles, and billing wired up from day one
- A component library and design tokens the in-house team still uses
- CI/CD with preview environments and zero-downtime deploys on AWS
How it went
We shipped to staging every week and to the App Store of the web — production — on schedule. Linnear launched to #3 on Product Hunt, and the spec and codebase we left behind became the foundation the founder's Series A engineering hires built on.
By the numbers.
“They wrote the spec our Series A engineering hires inherited. A year later it still holds up — and we didn't have to throw away a single line.”
Let's build your v1.
